Getting started

Welcome to Natutec Scout! Natutec Scout has a lot to offer, and understandably, these possibilities can be a bit overwhelming. That's why the step-by-step plan below has been developed. Follow the steps to start a company and get started with Natutec Scout. Click on the links to go directly to a section or click on the links under the section to go to a more detailed article on that topic.

1. Consultant Invitation

The consultant is the person who can invite growers to the Natutec Scout application. The consultant will send an invitation through the application. The invitation is sent by email. The email contains a link to create an account and register the company. In the consultant's dashboard, there will be a status notification indicating that an invitation has been sent. Once the account is created and a company has been registered, the status becomes Active.

2. Register Account and Create Company

After receiving the invitation by email, you can start registering an account and create a company by clicking on the link in the email. Go to the registration page by clicking on the link in the email. Enter the contact details here. Then, a screen with fields for entering the company name and other company details will appear. After completing this process, the consultant sees that the status has become Active in the dashboard.

3. Add Location

The next step is to create one or more locations. Within a company, there can be multiple locations, for example, in a different city or at a different address. Departments are sections within a location.

  • Enter the basic details
  • At the bottom is a checkbox named "All departments of this location have the same crop, scout preferences, and threshold values." By checking the checkbox, all scout preferences are linked, so any changes within a location are applied to every location. This is useful only if all departments have the same crop. If there are multiple types of crops per location, this option is less suitable. Keep in mind that once this option is chosen, it cannot be changed after creating the location. The location appears in the "Locations" menu in the left menu of the dashboard after creation.

4. Add Department

A department is a section within a location. Here, too, a number of fields are filled in.

  • At the bottom is a checkbox named "All locations of this department have the same crop, scout preferences, and threshold values." By checking the checkbox, all scout preferences are linked, so any changes within a location are applied to every location. This is useful only if all locations have the same crop. If there are multiple types of crops per location, this option is less suitable. Keep in mind that once this option is chosen, it cannot be changed after creating the department. The department appears in the "Departments" menu in the left menu of the dashboard after creation.
